SKET

Below is the full movie for SKET:

In the opening sequence of SKET, the characters, being a gang of girls, are introduced to us through violence - attacking a man. They are beating him up, spitting on him and swearing towards him - these are three very masculine traits, and this is the first thing we are introduced to about them.
We are given a fast editing pace and quick cuts to show the adrenaline of the scene. Over the top of this scene, there is a harsh and aggressive soundtrack to show the reality of what is unfolding in front of us. Low camera angles are used when introducing the girls, because it is made out that they are the strongest ones and the viewers should fear them - it makes us, as an audience, look up to them.
One of the girls we are then introduced to, is wrapped in a pink, purple and light blue blanket - these three colours represent her as being very girly, and also childlike - these are two things which the gang of girls are defiantly not associated with, as we saw in the opening sequence.
There are certain issues about youth culture that arise, for example: Sexism. A lot of the male characters, mainly the younger ones, are very sexist towards the female characters in the film - they act like they can say whatever they want to the females, because of the simple reason they think is acceptable - they are men, and they are women.
The 'masculinisation' of the women seems to make them hard and cold, stripping them of their femininity, I think that this is a societal fear and anxiety, because in out world, there are actually gangs/groups of girl and/or boys who are like this - this then makes the audience fear this happening to them, or in front of them, in the real world.
